Mark was having trouble with his internet browser.
Whenever he tried to access the internet his screen would become so
cluttered with pop-up advertisements that he could barely get anything
useful done. Our tutor Kris arrived on the scene with a copy of Ad-aware,
a spyware removal solution. Kris explained what spyware was and offered
suggestions on how to avoid a spyware buildup. He then showed Mark
how to clean his system of spyware and set up free software that blocks
pop-up ads during internet browsing.

John had a video library with over 100 titles on VHS. He wanted
to store his movies on his computer and copy them all to DVD format.
Our tutor Travis helped John buy and install the computer hardware
and software needed to transfer his tapes to digital video. Travis
then walked John through the process of editing and burning his
movies.

Casey received a message from her cable broadband internet provider
explaining that her computer had become infected with a virus and
that her service would be cut off unless she had the virus removed
and could provide proof of the removal. We sent our tutor Nick to
her house. Nick discovered that the virus was a new strain of the
MyDoom virus. He installed free virus removal software on her computer
and called her service provider to explain the situation.

When Joanne tried to turn on her computer it would not boot up the
Windows operating system. Our tutor Brad backed up her important
information with his portable CD burner and helped her reinstall
her operating system. He then copied her files and programs back
onto her computer and installed some helpful free software.
